Student Video Review and Critique
“How to Global Warming” was a movie that addressed
the issues that we face with the environment.
It also gave us solutions to several problems
we face in today regarding energy saving and
wasting using humor AND scientific facts. In
the movie the makers of the film addressed issues
such as: Recycling, Shorter Showers, Carpooling,
Compost, Stabbing jelly, Hand-Me-Downs/Charity
Donation, Planting Trees. Through out the whole
movie thee is an up-beat tempo that attracts
the viewer to watch and is very compelling.
Here is what the directors/cast (Aaron Duffy,
Chris Omran) had to say:
Us[interviewers]: Overall what did u have to
say about the movie?
AD[Aaron Duffy: Global warming is usually used
to scare people, so we thought that we would
take a humorous side on a very serious issue..and
I hope that people got the message”
because trying to scare someone into doing
something is not really effective”
CO[Chris Omran]: We did not want it to be boring!
Us: do you think that people got the message?
AD: I believe that there was a good balance
between humor and fact so..yeah I think they
did.
Us: Do you think a general audience other than
your peers who are watching this for the first
time will understand the message?
AD: its more directed at a younger audience,
so they should understand the message. Also
while filming the video we tried to avoid using
inside jokes as much as possible so it appeals
to a greater audience.
Us: Why the name how to Global warming, why
not Live green die hard?
AD: We have very bad grammar!(laughs frantically)
Us:hahahaha
AD:but really the movie was supposed to be
a spoof on a 1950 educational film people watched
in school. You know like the “duck and
Cover” videos. So instead of typical titles,
How to Date and How to Etc.. we thought that
how to global warming was a more fitting title.
Which is why we did not chose live green die
hard because its not an action film..its about
global warming.
Us: Would you consider presenting this to other
schools?
CO: YES DEFINATELY !
AD: why wouldn't we? |
