All over the Bay Area, high school students are forming EarthTeam groups in hopes of making our future the best it can be.
This year will be Martarella's third year with EarthTeam. He started working with the organization when he was in the sixth grade, after his grandmother suggested he give it a try.
Martarella has may jobs that he does with EarthTeam, including leading group clean-up projects and even taking part in a television show called The Green Screen. The television show is a place where members of EarthTeam talk about events and issues in ther world, and discuss ways in which students can help to make a change.
Although Martarella is the only student at Stone Valley who is a member of EarthTeam, there have been other people who participate in the community clean-ups. 9th graders Ryan Pineda, Brian LaBrie, and Greg Danner are a few of the people who have lent a hand to make this word a better place.
Martarella is passionate about helping out and thinks it is really fun. He encourages kids to get out there and help because it it's fun and you get something out of it. About 200 people do something with EarthTeam, Martarella says.
